I guess this is the part where I talk about my life-long passion for movies and my first camera and the first time I filmed a home movie with some friends, etc. Well, not exactly. Though my obsession with film has dominated most of my life (“Return of the Jedi” being the first movie I ever saw), the thought of actually making a movie has only popped into my thought process within the last few years. It was at this point that I found a way to utilize my interest in writing, which is where this story begins. Joining up with my best friend/writing partner Alejandro Patiño, we decided to start writing scripts and the journey had begun. Throughout the years, I had been mostly a songwriter, so scripts were a challenging new way to hone my skills. Ever since, I’ve realized how much I love it.
However, this new creative outlet is only one of my interests. Music is my main focus, these days. While starting off playing cello as a child, then bass, at 15 I decided to focus all my attention on guitar and have been fixated with it ever since. With my writing partner Alejandro Patiño, we decided that we should combine our interests in movies/music into a unified medium that promotes local art/music/film. Thus, we created the United Doraville Media Company (UDMC) which incorporated people from the neighborhood we grew up in that shared this common interest in art/music/film. It is now my goal to create a profession out of one of these artistic outlets.
