Casting Tips for Actors: Cover Letters
For the last installment of the Casting Tips for Actors* series, we will take a look at the all important and oft overlooked cover letter. A quick glance at your cover letter will immediately let someone know whether or not they want to continue looking at the rest of your materials. Without one, your headshot and resume may get tossed without a moment of consideration.
Cover Letter
- You need one. Everyone needs one.
- Always include one when sending your resume and headshot. People are much more likely to read a short letter first than look over an entire resume.
- Be polite. Be formal.
- Tell a little about yourself and why you want to work with them.
- Keep it simple.
Break a leg!
