Canon EOS Rebel T2i/550D: First Thoughts
If you’re one of the few people who hasn’t heard Canon recently released their newest digital SLR, camera – the Canon Rebel T2i/550D. David Torcivia has written articles showcasing short films using the new Rebel T2i in addition to a budget core kit necessary for achieving the bare minimum of good picture and sound. I haven’t purchased the camera to give a personal review, but there are other people who have. Below is a roundup of reviews of the new T2i. These sites will also list all of the technical specs that you desire. Happy shooting.

Here are a few observations from using Canon EOS Rebel T2i for the past 2 days:
* RAW files from this camera not supported in OS X yet
* MOV files created will test your computers speed
* MOV files in 1080p will eat up ~330MB/min and use ~15mbit/s bitrate
* Good starter lens, but I can already tell I’ll want something to supplement it
* Great fit and finish
* Very light

Have you shot on the Canon 5D or 7D before? If so how would you stack up the Rebel T2i against those VD-SLRs.

The only problem with 7D – it’s expensive. If I’ve a higher budget I would prefer Canon 7D.

I’m using standard 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS lens. I want to buy another Canon EF Lenses supplement my Canon T2i but I haven’t decided which lenses would be more suitable for me.

I don’t know if you saw David’s Canon T2i core kit, but he really likes the Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II.
Its found here. http://poetzerofilm.com/2010/02/canon-550d-the-core-kit/
