Fan-made Grizzly Bear Video
Media artist Gabe Askew recently released his own breathtaking fan-made video for the song 2 Weeks by indie band Grizzly Bear. If you haven’t seen the original video, don’t worry, you aren’t missing much.
This animated short far surpasses the official version, and is already an online hit having garnered over 300,000 views in the past few months. Its highly imaginative and distinct visual style (slightly reminiscent of Little Big Planet) flows and traverses through wondrous, colorful landscapes and beautifully captures the spirit of the song.
According to Gabe, “It took about four months of after-work time and weekends. I would estimate it to be about four work weeks.” The short was created using 3ds Max, V-Ray, After Effects, and Realflow. For more information on the production process, check out this interview with Gabe himself.
